The wet weather for our County Championship at Tynemouth Golf Club played a big part but certainly did not affect the quality of golf produced by our ladies. Tynemouth was forced to close the course on Sunday after torrential overnight rain. It was decided to hold the championship over two days with an 18 hole qualifying round and the quarter final played on Monday. The Jenny Lee Smith competition was also postponed. The semi-finals were contested on Tuesday morning in sunshine between Charlotte Naughton v Coralie Watson and Rebecca Ferguson v Antonia Emmerson. The final was played in the afternoon between Coralie and Antonia in extremely testing conditions. Nonetheless some superb golf was played by both finalists with Antonia winning the championship. Huge thanks to all involved in making it a very successful competition.
