Welcome to the Juniors' Section
Our aim is to promote the participation and success of Junior Girls within the sport of golf by offering coaching, playing, and socialising opportunities throughout the year.
There are opportunities for girls with and without handicaps to get involved in County activities and competitions. All girls who are 17 years old or under on the 1st of January and are a member of an NLCGA affiliated club are eligible to enter NLCGA Junior and Senior competitions as well as the NUGC boys competitions.
Parents/Guardians
Before your child can participate in an NLCGA activity, you need to complete the Parental Consent Form and Photography Consent Form both of which can be found at the bottom of this page.
Social Golf
We hold Social Golf sessions about once a month. These are sessions where we play golf just for fun (cards can be put in) and the girls get a chance to meet each other and socialise. But equally, if you just want to play a scramble, that’s great too! And once we’re back in the clubhouse, the County provides food for the players.
Social Golf sessions are held at a different club each time, so you’ll get a chance to play lots of different courses over the year.
These are free sessions where junior girls play golf just for fun over 6, 9 or 18 holes

Coaching
Our NLCGA coaching programme offers valuable opportunities to learn and develop new skills. Coaching activity aims to increase knowledge and understanding around putting, short game, wedge play, ball flight and strategy. These fun and engaging sessions also help to create new friendship groups and a lifelong affiliation to the county.
In addition to coaching, representing your county is a great honour where you learn how to perform, compete, and reflect on your experience. These newfound skills help form the foundation of a player’s future development.
Putting: reading the green; starting the ball online; controlling pace; routine; skills tests
Short game: basic technique; chip and run; pitch using L shape; understanding different lies and greenside bunkers; fifty-yard challenge on every round of golf
