On Thursday the County Executives played their annual match for the Teapot Trophy. Introduced in 2014 by the then county captain Moira Howie the idea was an end of season friendly between the two executive committees, County and Veteran, followed by afternoon tea. The competition is Stableford over nine holes with the total of the best 5 scores on each side used to find the winner.

This year we had beautiful sunny weather at Arcot Hall and the course was in magnificent condition. 17 of us played and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a lot of friendly banter and some magnificent golf with the occasional chip-in and some raking putts. The County ladies raced out of the starting blocks but peaked too soon losing the trophy for the 4th successive year to the Steady Eddie Vets.

Back at the club house there were sandwiches, scones and cakes along with a good natter. A very enjoyable afternoon was had by all.

Well played Vets and better luck next year County...
