Congratulations to the new Northumberland Ladies County Champions.
The Northumberland Ladies County Golf Association held the 2025 County Championship at Bedlingtonshire Golf Club between May 25-27th.
The top 8 players progressed from the 36 hole qualifying competition on Sunday 25th to play matchplay over two days.
The semi final and final were played on May 27th and in two very close semi finals Louisa Hamilton triumphed over defending champion Antonia Emmerson, and Rebecca Ferguson birdied the 18th and 19th holes to prevail over Zara Naughton.
The final was another a tight match and played in the best spirits of competitive golf, with Rebecca Ferguson winning on the 17th hole. Rebecca commented that she was delighted and proud to be the Champion for the second time, having previously won in 2021 and praised to Louisa on playing great golf in the Championship.
Congratulations to the new County Champion, Rebecca and to all the players who contributed to deliver an excellent and highly contested Championship. Commiserations to the runner up, Louisa who will no doubt have a very bright future in golf.
Antonia Emmerson did not go home empty handed as she defended her Junior County Championship title. Congratulations to Antonia on retaining the Junior Championship.
