JUNIORS FLY THE FLAG FOR NORTHUMBERLAND AT THE SCOTTISH GIRLS OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 4-6TH APRIL 2018
-

The 5 representatives from Northumberland in the Scottish Girls Open Championship at Monifieth Golf Links over the 4th, 5th and 6th April should feel proud of their achievements in what has been very testing conditions. Two of our players made the cut on Thursday to play their final, crucial round on the Friday. Rosie Belsham carded a 75 to add to her 72 and 73 for a magnificent 220. She came 2nd overall and was so close to winning the title with a birdie, bogie finish, just 2 shots away from the winner. Well done Rosie you should feel very proud of your achievement in what was a truly international field. Jess Baker had a very tough day for her first round score in atrocious conditions but followed it up with a 73 on day 2 to safely make the cut and then a super 72 in the final to finish in 10th position. Keep up the good work Rachel, Holly and Zara, it’s all within your reach. We are proud of all your efforts and achievements.
